Sind kort kan je via Telenet je mail lezen en beheren via imap.

Dit is vooral super handig als je werkt via een smartphone (Iphone). Hierdoor is het mogelijk om verschillende mappen te maken en je inbox te beheren zodat deze niet boordevol mails blijft staan.

Om deze dienst te kunnen gebruiken dien je hem gewoon even te activeren en de correcte gegevens in je smartphone in te geven.

Op dit moment is de dienst gratis. Het is niet duidelijk wat er in de toekomst mee zal gebeuren.

Vandaag een aangename ervaring gehad bij de klantendienst van Saturn (Wilrijk).

Had gisteren een nieuwe keukenmachine gekocht welke bij opstart defect bleek te zijn. Ik vreesde ervoor dat deze ter herstelling opgestuurd zou worden en dat ik nog wel enkele weken kon wachten voordat ik er opnieuw gebruik van kon maken, maar niets was minder waar.

Vandaag naar Saturn en de man van de technische dienst wist me te vertellen aangezien het defect binnen de eerste 14 dagen heeft plaatsgevonden dat ik een tegoed bon krijg. Ik mocht een nieuwe machine kopen, maar kon er ook iets anders mee kopen als ik wou.

Heb dan toch maar een nieuwe machine gekocht en tot nu toe doet hij het goed.

Grande Home Touchscreen schakelaars

Domotica kan een dure investering zijn en is zeker in bestaande huizen niet steeds eenvoudig te installeren. Op de bouw en reno beurs kwam ik op de stand van Grande Home terecht. Zij bieden hiervoor een eenvoudige en redelijk betaalbare oplossing. Bestaande lichtschakelaar kunnen vervangen worden door touchscreens die onderling met elkaar communiceren over het bestaande lichtnet. Het trekken van extra kabel is dus niet nodig.

Iets wat ik zeker later eens in detail zal bekijken.

Phillipe Starck Zikmu Speakers Belong in the Living Rooms of Those With Inscrutable Accents

But when I look at them, all I can think about is Nuni and Nooni Schoener. Zikmu, a collaboration between speaker company Parrot and noted super designer Phillipe Starck, is a set of 2.5 feet tall speakers that use Bluetooth to communicate with each other. They apparently broadcast sound 360° arround the room thanks to Parrot's NXT technology, which uses an extra-flat mebrane to create small-scale vibrations across the speakers' entire surface. "We were not aiming to create just another speaker," says Philippe Starck. "Our design focused more on making the air vibrate. There is actually a three-dimensional feel to this vibration, meaning that the air is palpable, almost humanlike in presence, like a fragrance."

HP Mini 1000 now supporting 3G

Lo and behold we're not even out of November yet and one owner has managed to get online with his brand spankin' new 1000. User dplxy over at the Pocketables forum put in some quality time with customer support from both HP and AT&T to figure out how, saving you some minutes by describing the how-to. Full instructions are at the read link, but the gist of it is you need to download a WWAN driver from HP, manually extract and install it, and then slot your SIM card into the battery compartment. Speeds are reported to be solid but, with the lowly three cell battery struggling to keep the thing broadcasting, you'd better hurry up and find what you're looking for. It's unlikely this will work with older versions of the Mini 1000, which are believed to lack the hardware internals, but give it a shot and let us know what you find, yeah?
