Uit eten: Hofke van Bazel

Het ander restaurant waar we tijdens de restaurantweek gingen eten was het Hofke Van Bazel.

Het was een buitengewone super sublieme ervaring. De ontvangst, decor, eten, bediening,... alles was perfect. Het is zeer lang geleden dat ik nog zulks een buitengewone ervaring heb meegemaakt. Echt perfect!

Uit eten: Magma

Tijdens vorige editie van de restaurantweek schreef ik me in om in Magma te gaan eten. Enkele maanden geleden waren we er ook te gast en was het een zeer positieve ervaring.

Om een lang verhaal kort te maken. Ons tweede bezoek viel serieus tegen. Het eten was maar zus en zo, een chaotische bediening die regelmatig wat vergat. Blijkbaar was het de andere bezoekers van de restaurantweek ook opgevallen want enkele dagen na het einde van deze culinaire week werden we gecontacteerd door dining city (de organisator van de week) met de melding dat ze Magma uitleg hebben gevraagd gezien de vele slechte beoordelingen.

Eind december liet Magma weten dat alle bezoekers een gratis 3 gangen maaltijd zouden krijgen. Het eten was beter dan de vorige keer en het feit dat het gratis maakt is natuurlijk ook wel leuk. Echter de kwaliteit van de eerste keer was ver zoek.

Spijtig maar mij zien ze er niet meer terug.

Looking through and seeing just how much hands on work is involved added a new perspective and more appreciation to the presentation and experience of our cigars. In this video you will experience the factory as I did, walking through and watching everyone at work handling one item at a time. Every detail is done by hand and with a beautiful finish. Pico Projector From Light Blue Optics Throws Up a 10-inch Touchscreen Laser Projection

clipped from gizmodo.com Light Blue Optics has been showing off their cool projection wares since 2004, so it's great to hear they're close to turning that "holographic laser projection technology" into a viable product, albeit as an OEM. The Light Touch pico projector throws a laser WVGA image out to the size of 10-inches, turning any available surface into a touchscreen. The angle is a pretty decent wide throw, which means the projector can be quite close to the surface. Running on Adobe Flash Lite 3.1, the Light Touch projector has 2GB of flash memory and a microSD card slot (with support up to 32GB) for storing media on, and also has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for hooking up with a laptop or device. It supposedly has a 2 hour battery life, which unfortunately seems to be the norm with these little projectors, though kudos to Light Blue Optics for throwing in a bunch of other features that could make this actually useful, for consumers as well as businesses (as the pic below shows).
